She was 89 years of age. Sister Christine Hartnett, OP (Sister John Kathleen) of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, died May 31, 2019 at St Marys Villa in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She worked for four years before hearing Gods call and entered the Congregation in 1953. At 111 years of age and nearly 90 years of religious life, she was the oldest living woman religious in the United States. She served God and Gods church as a Dominican Sister for 72 years. She was 83 years old. Sister Eileen McCabe, OP (Sister Joseph Therese) of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, died on January 23, 2017 at Meadowview in The Wartburg in Mt. She was 89 years old. She entered the Dominican Sisters of the Sick Poor in 1952 at 18 years . She entered the Congregation in 1959, after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Youngstown University. She ministered at the Saint George Hospital in Cincinnati, and at Mohun Health Care Center for more than two decades. She spent nearly two decades as a teacher and administrator in New York, New Jersey, and Illinois before being called by the Congregation to serve as Director of Junior Sisters at the St. Catharine Motherhouse and College. Sr. Mary Jane served as pastoral minister at St. Jude Parish, Chattanooga, TN, and St. Joseph Parish, Marietta, GA. During these two ministry opportunities, she began working with people affected by HIV/AIDS and their loved ones, offering spiritual care and support. Keys, age 85, passed away February 21, 2023, in Fort Pierce, FL, after a brief illness. Sr. Loretta was curious, often seeking to understand the mystery of God and listening to others as they searched for meaning. The daughter of the late John and Theresa (Torpey) McGloin, she was born January 4, 1941 in New York City. Sister Brigid Kelly, OP (Sister Patrick Elizabeth) of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, died December 12, 2016 in Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY. Dominican Sister of Peace Joan Monica McGuire, OP. Christine M. (Lynch) Mackin of Sandwich, 56, died on Sunday, February 26, following a battle with cancer. She was called to serve her community as the regional coordinator for the Western Region, then elected president of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catharine, serving from 1972-1980. Her parents, Flora Yelton and Henry Hutton, raised eight children in Cuba, IL. When Sister was first there, she made weekly visits to Riverview Hospital in Red Bank and led the rosary for a group of her neighbors. After retiring from education in 1985, Sr. Vincent joined the Congregations Finance team, where she built a reputation for being organized, conscientious, and absolutely dogged about the accuracy of the reports that she prepared.
